    Sound Card Low Volume

I've just installed kubuntu-12.10-desktop-amd64 on an HP Pavilion g6. It installed without a hitch. But I'm having a problem with sound. The volume on the ATI R6xx HTMI sound card is hardly producing half the sound volume that it should.

    Any solutions?

    Thanks.

    Open a console and type:
    Code:
    alsamixer
User your right-arrow key to move to the Speaker and PCM entries. Both should be set to 100. If they are not, use your up-arrow key to increase. The Master should be set to a lower level. Mine is at 58. Once done, just press Esc to exit.

      Thanks, Snowhog,

In the Mixer, I have two sliders. One is Built-In Audio Digital Stereo (HDMI). The other is Built-in Audio Analog Stereo. Both are set at 100%.

On my KDE PCLinuxOSs, I have KMix with PCM sliders. Should I be installing KMix?

KMix, the speaker icon in the System Tray, isn't the same thing.
