Just installed Quantal and it looks like proprietary drivers are holding us hostage once again. I have an on board radeon 4200 and couldn't get the additional drivers tools to work. I did have success with the directions from: how-to-install-amd-catalyst-legacy

Nutshell:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:makson96/fglrx
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install fglrx-legacy
