    VLC and Power Management problem

There is one thing that is still not working for me.

Power management should be automatically disabled when watching a full-screen movie.
I use VLC, with the (Advanced) setting "Inhibit the power management daemon during playback"
but this does not do anything.
Also I cannot find such a setting in KDE system settings.
So for now I still need to disable power management on AC power when I want to watch
    a movie...

Is is that your monitor is entering power-saving mode? If so, search the forum for a thread titled "DPMS turns itself on" (or something similar). You can find solutions to this problem there.

I had the same problem as you with VLC and Dragon Player not disabling the power manager when playing a video. I found that Kaffiene does though. It is a pretty good multi-media player like VLC but uses the Xine backend. I also use gxine for my Xubuntu system as the default Parole media player doesn't suspend the screen saver either, but gxine does.
