Looks like it. I also noticed that when I switched to the distribution-provided kdmrc, I couldn't set my login screen background, gui style, etc. So I fixed the entry in my old kdmrc and copied it back. Got my nicely integrated login, splash and desktop backgrounds back.

Also, I notice the problem with kde unpredictably reverting back to microdot font size has returned. Easily enough fixed by editing /usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kde4-profile/default/share/config/kdeglobals, but had to search that out again.

The problem is that, for no apparent reason, kde will revert from whatever one has set the font sizes, to a default size (ubuntu 9 or 8) that (for some of us) is completely unreadable. This is a problem that has been discussed in several threads here and elsewhere; the workaround is to edit the file already mentioned and change the default fonts to a larger size. Unfortunately this workaround gets overwritten when kubuntu-default-settings gets updated or reinstalled.

Huh. That particular problem hasn't appeared on any of my installs.
