    Oversided LiveCD

I know that the developers are aware that the i386 LiveCD .iso file is 'oversized' and that is the result of a known bug. My question is, why haven't they fixed it!? I don't want to have to waste a DVD to burn what is/should be a CD sized .iso file.

Anyway, the final image size will finally grow to being larger than 700mb.

I thought that I might have made comment on it, but...

Even so, your comment (and the link provided) doesn't bode well for what is identified as a LiveCD. A CD .iso needs/demands that it fit, when burned, onto a CD, not a DVD.

I do think that they will have to make sure the official release download mirrors will have the description text edited, but this won't be visible to a vast majority of users who download from the website and not directly from mirrors.

Of course, the LiveCD .iso, even if it won't fit onto a CD, can still be used to create a LiveUSB.

And live USB's are where things are headed. Optical drives in general are on their way out.

Just finished doing so. I'm on 12.10 now, from the USB.

USB is all fine and good, but one of my machines will not allow a bios setting from a USB for some reason. I don't see any reason devs can't make a lite version that can the be upgraded to full after installation. That was the way Mint handled it.
