I have been looking for a PPA for 4.9 beta1 but no luck so far.

I've been backporting it since yesterday, and there has been a few glitches (with building, not running, escpecially as launchpad is obviously flooded with 64bit builds).
Built everything up to kdepim, then Cmake complains about SDO 0.9. OK, so i added that to backport list. Built that, but now kde-runtime doesn't build! It needs kdelibs and nepomuk-core rebuilt against this new SDO. Waited till that finished, but now kdelibs5-plugins has some weird binary dep on kdelibs-data (which is arch independent). OK, just need to wait while amd64 version builds. Now kde-workspace-bin depends on not-existing package, etc.

My point is, it will take some time while something official from the devs comes up, but should be up in the coming days

Upgraded a couple of days ago, and i must say, it's pretty snappy, and it's very stable, considering it's the first beta*. Don't know if it's me only, but it seems to me it's eating a little less memory then 4.8.

*Previous pre-releases were quite unpredictable - beta1 - great, beta2 - rocky, RC1 - OK, RC2 regressed a little bit more, etc, depending on the module/app.

Looks like it's 4.8.80 (which will be 4.8.3) right now, but I think Launchpad is building 4.8.90 currently.

Downloaded and installed Quantal Apha1 (32Bit) into VirtualBox last week. After today's updates it seems to be running well; no obvious glitches.
