dolphin search stopped working "invalid protocole"

Hello.

Everything seems to be working really good with my kxstudio desktop (kde 12.04), and searching files with dolfphin was working great.

I don't know what happened, but for no clear reason, it does not work any more, a second after I type a letter, it writes invalid protocol, in a red box....?

Can anyone help me fix this?
Find out where does the problem come from?

I have not done any major changes in my environment, I think I updated everything once with muon file manager.

hello it is me again

I fixed the problem, doing an update of some lib, I don't really know what I did, maybe some dependencies had been removed when I tried some things with the console....

latest "bad" idea I had, was doing an install of cvs,?

do you know what it means....because some other files and folders had to be removed....? Everything seems ok, but sometimes I wonder if I am not taking risks when trying some things like that?
and other question....is it possible to go back to the previous settings, meaning removing the cvs package, will the deleted files, now missing, be spotted by the package manager?

The latest(and last ?) KDE4 version is ( https://www.kde.org/announcements/ ): KDE4: 4.14

The Kubuntu 12.04 was released with the KDE 4.8 ( http://www.kubuntu.org/news/12.04-release ). The Kubuntu backports PPA ( https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+...filter=precise ) has the KDE 4.13 for the Precise.

? what do you mean "deleted files" ,,,,,,,,you do not uninstall something by deleting its files ,,,,,,you use the package manager ,,,,, if you want a complete removal including old configs then use the purge option .
