    How to re-install AMD driver

    Greetings,

My previously functioning AMD driver has now disappeared! I tried re-installing through synaptic but nothing happened. I even got a system update with "Additional Drivers" today but the AMD was not included, my Additional drivers only feature the Broadcom driver.

Any ideas on how to re-install the AMD driver my chip is the following:
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV710/M92 [Mobility Radeon HD 4530/4570/545v] [1002:9553]
    Thanks,

    Michel

I would try with the https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/AMD and there https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Bi...e_command_line

I did all the steps in the manual installation but get the following message when trying to rewrite xorg
      michel@michel-Satellite-L650:~$ sudo aticonfig --initial
      aticonfig: No supported adapters detected
      I get this
      michel@michel-Satellite-L650:~$ fglrxinfo
      display: :0 screen: 0
      OpenGL vendor string: X.Org
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV710
      OpenGL version string: 1.4 (2.1 Mesa 8.0.4)
BUT MPLAYER IS NOW WORKING AGAIN?

      Thanks

      Michel
