Firefox 22 won't open any pages at all?

Just took the upgrade to Firefox 22 on my Asus netbook. 12.04 64 bit. Once the install was done, Firefox took a long time to 'check the compatability of the add-ons', but then opened. However, it won't open ANYTHING. It is just like there was no Internet connection at all. It times out trying to load ANY web page.

I renamed the .mozilla folder, and then it starts and runs fine.

I took a .mozilla folder from another machine with identical software, and moved that to the Asus. Firefox opens, but won't load any pages.

I tried starting it in 'safe' mode (plug-ins disabled). Same issue. Won't load anything.

    Anyone else seeing this?

    Frank.
