Since a Precise Pangolin upgrade, the notification widget has become quite painful. Sure, I can disable it easily enough, but I used to like the widget. Now it covers other things on the panel bar or stays on the desktop even when there are "No notifications and no jobs."
Is there any way to revert to the old style of the widget? It is unusable in its current incarnation, IMO.
