Hello all, been having this problem since installing 12.04. Konsole keeps ghosting text and previously open windows that pass or go over the konsole window. Not sure how to correct this since I do like desktop effects and I am running open GL. Currently running an Nvidia GT640 2G card with 304.64 driver. Also on amd64 version of Kubuntu 12.04 and updated linux headers to 3.2.0-39 on KDE 4.8.5. Pretty sure it's video related but as of yet, the driver i'm on is the only one that has worked thus far from the list given by Jockey and also having tried 295.40 which I was using with my older 1G Nvidia card running Kubuntu 10.10. So I am kinda stuck Any help would be great, thanks.

Try turning of the Blur desktop effect. Does it make things better?Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Ok so I've tried updating my video driver to 304.88 and everything seems good except konsole. Tried turning openGL 2 shaders off as well as Vsync and still no change to konsole. Not sure what the deal is. I will try uninstalling it and reinstalling it or maybe just use a different terminal emulator and see if that works. It doesn't happen with any other program or window enviroment.AMD PhenomII X2 550 CPU - Asus M4A88TD-Evo - Nvidia GT640 - 4G 1333 ram - Kubuntu 13.04 - KDE 4.10.5 amd64

Problem solved! It was the Oxygen Transparent theme causing the issue with Konsole. I just added Konsole to the exceptions list to keep the theme from changing it since I do love the theme and every other part of it works great. Thanks, felt kinda dumb when it finally dawned on me but at least all is well. I really like using Oxygen Transparent and so far in 12.04, Konsole seems to be the only thing that has any issues plus it has it's own transparentcy feature anyway so no big lol.AMD PhenomII X2 550 CPU - Asus M4A88TD-Evo - Nvidia GT640 - 4G 1333 ram - Kubuntu 13.04 - KDE 4.10.5 amd64
