    Skype Download Error

    Hello;

    When I download the latest version of Skype for my 12.04 Precise system, I get the following error from the Debian package installer:

    Error: Wrong architecture 'i386'

    Okay, i'm running a 64 bit system, but I've installed lots of 32bit i386 applications. What's the problem and how can I get around this issue?

    Did you use QApt when you tried to install it? I've had QApt give me the same error under the same circumstance (32 bit package being installed on a 64 bit system with 32 bit libs already installed). I just fired up a terminal and installed it with sudo dpkg -i name-of-package.deb and that worked fine.
