Can't copy stdin to temporary file

Since last Friday 15 March I have been unable to print any document to my printer with the above error message appearing.

    Help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

I had just discovered that my Root partition was full. I've cleared the cache which has removed some files from root and now I can print.

    What a dummy I am!

Yeah - no one has ever done that before!

I the "olden" days, I often recommended a separate partition for /var and /tmp to prevent this sort of thing. Now with hard drive space so plentiful it happens much less often.

I wonder if we could create a daemon that would monitor hard drive space and at least notify when nearing a problem state. Possibly, clearing cache and tmp in the process.

I currently configure my tmpfs into RAM/swap space so it's cleared at every reboot.
