Please do not use the CODE tag when pasting content that contains formatting (colored, bold, underline, italic, etc).
The CODE tag displays all content as plain text, including the formatting tags, making it difficult to read.
I the "olden" days, I often recommended a separate partition for /var and /tmp to prevent this sort of thing. Now with hard drive space so plentiful it happens much less often.
I wonder if we could create a daemon that would monitor hard drive space and at least notify when nearing a problem state. Possibly, clearing cache and tmp in the process.
I currently configure my tmpfs into RAM/swap space so it's cleared at every reboot.
