How to upgrade to 4.9.x but NOT to 4.10.x ??

    Hi!

I am running Precise and want to update to latest of KDE 4.9.x version only - NOT to 4.10.

    But if I put line:
    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu/ precise main
to my /etc/apt/sources.list, it want to upgrade me to 4.10.

    How to force KDE 4.9.x

the backports repo is currently on 4.10.1 there are no kde 4.9 packages there. you might be able to do so with 12.04 regualr repos now but i doubt it.(quantal's default is 4.9.5 currently so you could ppa-purge then do-release-upgrade) but the real quesion is why don't you want 4.10 its an improvement from 4.9 in almost every area.

I dont want it because after I upgraded to 4.10 and restarted, no luck to start the system anymore - on two different machines.
I dont want to dig why.
I decided to stick with 4.9.5, that works perfectly and wait for, at least, 4.10.5.
I have backuped system with 4.9.4 (precise) and only want to update to 4.9.5.
So is it really possible to add quantal's line to precise's sources.list?

you can't just add quantal's line you would need to upgrade to quantal.

if you feel like trying kde 4.10 again i suggest using the terminal that way you can see whats going on.
