    Auto Hide panel

    Hi All
I am looking for a way to auto hide a panel when there is no programs running and stay hidden until a program is launched.
When a program is launched I want the panel to unhide and stay unhidden until all programs are closed.
I do not want the panel to react to the mouse pointer.
    Any ideas

This is not actually possible as the panel does not know anything about the widgets it contains (ie it does not know about the number of applications open).

You can attempt to work around it, a completely transparent panel would basically work as the task manager does not display anything unless a window is open. But is not perfect for what you want. I assume this is for your other post, in which case I don't see why you don't just add the task manager to the panel with the launcher and let it auto expand when applications are launched.
