Problem with installing DigiKam and showFoto

[Kudroid]

I am trying to install DigiKam and showFoto from the software center, but I keep getting this error message:
"The package system could not be initialized, your configuration may be broken"

I can install any other software so from the software center. Any idea why?

open a konsole and enter

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install digikam showfoto

if errors post the error part of the output.
