Removing a .deb package

This seemed to work in the end:

cd /var/lib/dpkg/info
sudo rm lios.*

sudo dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq lios

Just hope I didnt mess anything up. Was able to run normal update and upgrade after this.

The step you uncovered is typically the next one to try when a -r --force-all won't work. Good job.
