Install was going well, downloaded about 1000 packages and was just over half way through installing them when suddenly the Bluetooth mouse died promptly followed by X crashing. Logged into a text terminal and after the current dpkg session stopped installed the remaining 500 or so packages. Towards the end the process stopped with Nvidia crashing this time.
Rinse and repeat got everything installed (it seemed).
Rebooted but now am stuck with the default kdm login that goes nowhere. Log in, cursor changes to the default X x and shortly after i'm back at the login screen.
