I just reboot into a konsule and did sudo apt-get clean and sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade. I got exited with error code 1. I told it to sudo reboot. kdm was a little slow to come up and after i logged in the desktop took forever to come up, The newspaper doesn’t work and nether dose the comic plasmoide and the applications drop down list always says their is one more running program than it lists! I think my kubuntu 12.04.01 install is even more broke than when i started! Any body got any idea to check for now?
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

I am starting to wounder if there might be a bad spot on one of my SSD's. Isn't there a linux command for checking a drive?

My first hunch is that you're still running with constrained disk space. I would suggest combining your separate /, /boot, and /var into a single partition, so that you have more overall free space.

Also, how much RAM is in your machine? Please show the output of
        Code:
