I managed to remove it from the general KDE context menu, but not the Dolphin right click context menu. There is nothing about Activities in the Dolphin Service Menu Config area.

I don't think that can be removed (at least without touching the code). Plugins responsible for linking files with activities are:
kactivitymanagerd_fileitem_linking_plugin.so
kactivitymanagerd_fileitem_linking_plugin.desktop
Hmm, I can remove it with Configure dolphin > Services > Uncheck "file to activity linking plugin" (with kde4.9.0, I am currently on archlinux, but I don't see why that would make a difference here)

James, you are right . No-icon fooled me (to be honest, i haven't checked, i trusted Xplorer4x4 that it isn't there).
lol the no icon thing fooled me to, that and I swore I tried the method James mentioned but I guess not. I just knew I got rid of it before and couldnt remember how.

Don't know if that package is in Kubuntu but in openSUSE since newest version everything activities related lies in the package kactivities4
which I uninstalled (actually it gives an error that this might break things, but my KDE works without activities )
