Confused about Firefox Kubuntu/KDE Instructions...

    It makes me wonder... isn't there some kind of DE agnostic method of invoking a file-picker dialog? So that programs such as Firefox can just issue a generic call for a file-picker, and whatever DE it happens to be running under would just handle the request. It would completely remove the need for the kmozillahelper package, and for patched Firefox builds. Of course, it such a DE agnostic method does exist, the Mozilla devs would have to be convinced to use it...

    And if it doesn't exist, it should! I wonder if it would be something that the fine people at freedesktop.org might be interested in.

        Maybe it will, but it is unlikely to get patched Firefox back into Ubuntu archives.
