Firefox 14.0.1 Layout Wikpedia messed up

Just installed two fresh copies of Kubuntu 12.04 on 2 different machines (32 and 64 bit). After the updates I used Muon to install Firefox.

On both machines the layout of Wikipedia is all messed up. Text is aligned wrong, lists and tables are empty.
e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_%2...29#Discography

On other systems like Ubuntu with the same Firefox version everything looks smooth..

Is there a way to fix this problem or install a proper Firefox version?

The linked page looks just fine for me, using Firefox 14.0.1 / Kubuntu 12.04 64bit.

No one? Must be strange I'm the only one since I installed two versions (32 and 64 bit) from scratch on 2 different PC's.

Both linked pages look fine here ... using Firefox 14.0.1 on Kubuntu 12.04 32bit.

Do you have any add-ons installed? Maybe try restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled and see if that makes any difference.

No additional Add-ons installed, just the one that came with the installer and updates.

Just reinstalled a third new system. Still the same problem. Now gonna try Mint KDE.
No one just installed Kubuntu 12.04 straight from DVD?

I did a clean install of Kubuntu 12.04 32bit from a downloaded CD image. Image dated 29th April, 2012. Size: 698.3Mb (732,213,248 bytes).

This is the MD5 checksum for my image: 11cd581db5740a62d58eeb39824fc11f *kubuntu-12.04-desktop-i386.iso

Could your downloaded image be corrupted somehow?

Didn't check the MD5 checksums yet, but it appears on both the 32bit version and the 64bits version. The first downloaded direct and the second downloaded via Torrent.
Did you install Firefox using the Muon Software Centre?
And did you use the option to download updates while installing?

I installed from DVD and the linked Wiki pages look fine to me. Running 12.04 and Firefox 14.0.1. No issues here. Same on my laptop (32 bit).

Just a very wild shot. Could it be the computers with a problem are using some kind of cached version of the site, like a proxy, and the cache is messed up? If it's only wikipedia, that sounds a bit like a damaged stylesheet or html-file (or JavaScript or whatever they use).

Just tried with an other internet connection. Same result.
So all together 3 different computers, 2 different DVD's, 2 different internet connections. Just run out of causes

Hmm. Comparing your screenshot to how the site displays for me, it looks like your Firefox is making italicised hyperlinks invisible, while displaying non-italic hyperlinks just fine.

Not sure what might cause that... an issue with installed fonts? Missing fonts?

(Edit) Have you tried posting about this problem over at the Mozillazine forums? As the saying goes: "given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow". If you decide to post there, precede your topic title with "(Linux) ", mention in the post that you're running Kubuntu 12.04, and definitely include that screenshot.

It can't be something with missing fonts, because every browser uses automatically a fall-back font when a font is missing. Here the font used for the links is the same font as for the non-link text.
The non-italic link 'Bearbeiten' isn't correct either, because it should be on the right side of the page.
Of course I can be wrong, but it doesn't look to me like a problem with Firefox. The links are just simple links in italic. And other people don't have the problem.
I still think it may be a messed up html/css/whatever thing.
Before posting on Mozilla you could try a few other things.

Are other pages displaying like they should? If so, that's another indication it has something to do with a damaged file in a cache/proxy somewhere on your way to Wikipedia. Some ISP's use a web proxy to cache files to preserve bandwidth and to serve the page faster. Not always those proxies are configured the right way.
Wikimedia had two or three days ago big problems. They were off-line in a lot of countries, and in other countries they served damaged pages. It could be your provider cached such a damaged file.
What you could try to force the proxy (if that's the cause) to give you a fresh page: put a ? at the end of the url and write something behind it, doesn't matter what.
The URL of that page will be something ilke

(without the spaces, of course)
If the proxy is configured well, it should get a completely fresh page now. The abcdefg make the cache think it's a new page, so it asks for a new page. Of course that page doesn't exist, but that doesn't matter. The part after the ? is simply ignored, if there's no use for it.

If you install another browser, do you have the same problem? If not, it's probably time to go to Mozilla forum.

Seems like all Italic text from the fonts "serif", "sans-serif" and some others is displayed invisible in my Firefox.
I can easily reproduce it on my system.

On my system TEST1 is invisible.
TEST2 is visible.
and TEST3 is invisible because my default-font is "Serif", If I set the default to for instance "Ubuntu" it shows fine.

Rekonq shows everything like it should.
