Sure, but note that it takes a looong time to compile kde-workspace
First, you need to get sources of kde-workspace:
          Code:
          wget https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/backports/+files/kde-workspace_4.9.0.orig.tar.xz
          wget https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/backports/+files/kde-workspace_4.9.0-0ubuntu1%7Eprecise1%7Eppa2.debian.tar.gz
          wget https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/backports/+files/kde-workspace_4.9.0-0ubuntu1%7Eprecise1%7Eppa2.dsc
          then:
          Code:
          dpkg-source -x kde-workspace_4.9.0-0ubuntu1~precise1~ppa2.dsc
          cd kde-workspace-4.9.0
          nano debian/changelog
change the line that says precise1~ppa2 to precise1~ppa3
          Code:
          nano debian/patches/series
          at the end, add kde-workspace-a.diff
place attached file (rename it to kde-workspace-a.diff) in debian/patches folder
          Code:
          sudo apt-get build-dep kde-workspace
          dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -b
          kde-workspace-a.txt
          sigpic

If you do clone of that repo, you'll build master!
            Tip for shortening build time:
            http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~schumsk....9/revision/14
            disable buicding kwin-active

well it all built ....got a bunch of warnings about "cant extract name and version from " and it was for what looked like everything .
but it installed fine (sudo dpkg -i *.deb ran from in ~/build((which is ware I put the wget-files)) and is working ok ........BUT still no shade unshade on wheel event
it was fun building it though

Did you re-login? Also, you didn't install all packages? Cause some conflict with other (kwin-active ones), just install those you had before.
That warning's OK, it just means the library doesn't have version (ie. 4.9, or 0.4.1 , or whatever)

I would remove, both from installation, and build folder, at least:
                      kde-window-manager-active
                      kde-window-manager-active-gles
                      libkwinactiveeffects1abi4
                      libkwinactiveglesutils1
                      libkwinactiveglutils1abi1
                      libkwinactivenvidiahack4
and then re-install remaining packages. If your issue persist after that, be sure to report a bug about it, it'll get fixed in no time i'm sure

cube crash was due to the desktop name not being displayed .....adding it back and no more crash .....supposed to be being fixed.

just got 247 new updates from backports will see if anything comes of it

nope the 247 new updates didn’t fix the no mouse wheel events on Aurorae decorations ....but it did over rite all the packages I had compiled and installed so all back to the
kubuntu-ppa/backport's now ......I think (still checking)
