Downgrad GCC to previus versions e.g. gcc 4.1

    Hello everybody,

I have just installed kubuntu 12.04 and would like to compile my projects which require gcc 4.1.

In the kubuntu 10.04 I was able to downgrade it using apt-get, but now using the same procedure results in dependency errors.

I have also tried the instructions found in some ubuntu forums (s. links bellow), but they did not work either. Further I was not able to found something useful on the web.

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=423871
    http://askubuntu.com/questions/26498...-and-g-version

Does somebody know how this downgrade can be done?

    Many thanks in advance.

The online package list shows that GCC versions 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, and 4.7 are available. It appears that Canonical isn't providing earlier versions for Precise.
