Are hotkeys defined somewhere besides system settings? I need alt+left mouseclick for GIMP but Kubuntu appears to have grabbed it for moving windows.

You can change kwin mouse controls in SystemSettings>WindowBehavior>WindowBehavior>Windo wActions

You can change the modifier key (Alt is the default)...or change left button action to none (if you don't need the move functionality)
