Okay, this is carrying on from problems I initially reported in this post:
http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...tine-related-)
Situation is better now. I have installed a new nVidia GT520 card. I have not had any total lockups for a while. HOWEVER.
1: On login I get (always?) the System notification helper bubble telling me something has crashed now or in the past. When I click on it, it disappears without telling me anything. It also appears in the system tray and does same thing. How do I find what it's trying to tell me?
2: Every so often get another popup saying the application Knetattach has closed unexpectedly. This can also be triggered by clicking on the file _usr_bin_nepomukservicestub.1000.crash. I have manually viewed this file in Kate but cannot divine anything from its contents.
3: Unrelated and should probably be another post, but I am also prompted by both apper and muon for updates almost daily. Is this normal? Why both?
On the plus side, I tried re-installing my Canon MP810 and Kubuntu actually recognised it! Don't know when this got updated but hopefully I won't have to boot to Windows to print stuff now.
