    Firefox KDE support

I was using Kubuntu 10.10 and I will change to Kubuntu 12.04 because it is LTS.

I could not find the package firefox-kde-support
E: Package 'firefox-kde-support' has no installation candidate

    How to use KDE dialogs?

    See http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php/who...tem&px=MTA3MjI

    Support was dropped.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Is there a way to replace Gnome dialogs by KDE dialogs?
I really do not like the Gnome load/save file dialog.

If I download this package from an older version, will it work?

        Hi!
I've uploaded both kmozillahelper (firefox-kde-support) and firefox 12 with KDE patches re-enabled here:
        https://launchpad.net/~hrvojes/+archive/firefox-kde
It should be built in couple hours so you can try it if you want.
Tested both packages and everything is working - plasma notifications, file associations, and KDE dialogs

Any reason why you append "KDE3" to your package name?

Honest mistake, didn't notice it could be read in this way
It was KDE, then KDE1, etc.

Awesome! You should get in touch with the Kubuntu team with this, they can give pointers and perhaps this can make its way back into Kubuntu!
I wonder if is possible to do this without having to require you to provide a firefox package in your ppa? I wonder is Suse did it their way for that reason.

I would rather receive some feedback before that

On a directory with 1000's of files KDE needs time to first populate the window with file names before it can save a new one.
On the positive side it's nice to have the preview option back.
Opening the dialogue isn't sluggish for me, but yes, with the previews turned on, it can take some time for a directory with large number of files to show up.

Perhaps suse created a fresh new folder structure as as standalone so that rebuilding Firefox was not necessary? Having to have a separate build of Firefox is extra work that might be avoidable, the Dev team could help with that.
