    VMware Player on 3.2.0-24-generic

    Hello,

    I am unable to get VMware-Player-4.0.3-703057.x86_64.bundle to work.

    I install it as follows:
    Code:
    $ sudo ./VMware-Player-4.0.3-703057.x86_64.bundle
    It seems to install OK.

    But, when I click the icon to start VMware Player I get the following two pop up windows and VMware Player doesn't run.
    Click image for larger version

    And I'm told to look at the log file /tmp/vmware-root/modconfig-13461.log which is below:
    Code:
    # cat modconfig-13461.log

    I installed build-essential last week. But, I thought I'd run it again in case I'm missing the kernel headers:
    Code:
    $ sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-`uname -r`
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
    build-essential is already the newest version.
    linux-headers-3.2.0-24-generic is already the newest version.
    The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
      gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3:i386 libconfuse-common libconfuse0 liboil0.3:i386
    Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.

    I read another post on this forum about VMware Player but I think that post was about using VMware Player with a different Kernel.

    I don't know what I'm missing.

    Thank you for your time and any assistance.
