New install kubuntu 12.04.Thunderbird will not open Links.I'm using firefox as my Browser.

In Edit > Preferences > Attachments, do HTML document, http, and https say "Use Firefox"?

When I try to open a link.I get this link needs to be opened with a application.

I do not have this problem when using Ubuntu

Do I need to add a application ,if so how ?

You don't need an additional application, but you do need to respond to answers like the one above..

After going to Edit/Preferences/Attachments - I had Google chrome as the default instead of Firefox. Selecting "use other" gives you the option to select the helper program. Firefox (for me) was sitting in /usr/bin

Still unable to find my problem with opening links in thunderbird.
Did a reinstall of both Kubuntu 10.10 and 12,04.
My install of Ubuntu will work ok
Did work in 10.10,but after updates stop working
