thunderbird and firefox problems

In Firefox I can not dedicate applications to open file. In downloads open folder doesn't work.

Similar problem in Thunderbird. How to open http and similar links in Firefox?

Go to System Settings | File Associations. Type html in the "Find file type..." box. Go to text | html. Change the application preference order as you wish.

it is solved for thunderbird. i redirected to /usr/bin/firefox

looking 4 firefox solution now...

That should work for Firefox, as well. When you click on HTML links or files, does Firefox not open?

nope, nothing happens
ps: i am not talking about links in firefox. having problems with associating files in "download folder"

As temp solution i redirected "file" in firefox to /usr/bin/dolphin
