    Error when updating

    Hello all,

    I am getting an error I am not fimliar with when up dating from the terminal.



    W: Failed to fetch cdrom://Kubuntu 12.04 LTS _Precise Pangolin_ - Release amd64 (20120423)/dists/precise/main/binary-amd64/Packages Please use apt-cdrom to make this CD-ROM recognized by APT. apt-get update cannot be used to add new CD-ROMs

    The one about the CR ROM I don't understand. I did a fresh install from a USB.

    Any ideas?

    Edit as root, /etc/apt/sources.list and comment out (put a # in front of the line) the lines referring to cdrom.
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.

        How do I edit the sources list? /etc/apt/sources.list doesnt work for me.

          Press Alt+F2 to bring up Krunner. Then type: kdesudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list and press Enter. This will launch the Kate text editor "as root" and open the file for editing.
