VLC Media Player-11.10 OK/12.04 UNSTABLE(OS Requires Reboot)

Hi,

I installed VLC Media Player using Software Center.

When I opened a video file using VLC Media Player,
my monitor started turning off and on
(Kubuntu was was not savable and I had to reboot OS)

I want to use VLC Media Player, but its not working on 12.04.

Anyone else having this problem and know how to fix it?
