    Request for package upgrade

    Hello Folks:
My first post on this Forum. I have just compeleted installation of Kubuntu 11.10 and have fully updated it. I am enjoying using this OS and it seems everything is working well so far which makes me very happy. One request I have though, is that the Kmymoney package in the repository is that of version 4.5.3 . However, the latest stable Kmymoney for KDE 4.x platform is 4.6.2 according to the Kmymoney web site. I use this package regularly in another Linux version. So, I am requesting if the repo package could be updated to the latest version for compatibility with the data file I have already created with 4.6.2 in my other linux installation. Or any help with other option for me to have access to the latest version for Kubuntu would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

      Welcome to the Forum.

I'm running Kubuntu 12.04, fully updated as of this morning, and I too, use KMymoney. It is at version 4.6.1, so the most recent version you are seeing as available on their web site, isn't for your, or my (at this time) version of Kubuntu.

Hmm. I see on your ppa site the following:

          kmymoney
          Failed to build: amd64 i386

          Is this still the case?

            Only for Natty.
There is a difference in the naming of a dev package between natty and oneiric I never bothered to fix

That is because I have to add a patch to allow building KMM with Qt 4.8, gotta learn how that is properly done

I installed the one from above url wo/any problem. I tested my data file and online account update performance of KMM 4.6.2, all working fine.

Lately I upgraded the stock Kmymoney to version 4.6.2 on my laptop (kubuntu 12.04) as well. All working well, except when I open the application, its right border goes byond the laptop's screen. I use the resize option from the application's window menu (the icon at upper left corner of KMM window) and adjust the frame. This works only for current session and does not stick and stay put. So, evertime I have to resize the window frame on start-up. Could you please advise?
                    Thanks!
PS. I do not experince this issue on my desktop.

I have no idea. You could try moving/renaming your ~/.kde/share/config/kmymoneyrc after closing KMM and then restarting it - this will delete the application preferences, not any data. I believe window geometry may be stored there.

                        FYI.
Kmymoney version 4.6.3 is now available at their web site. It seems this version, amongst other things, has eliminated a number of bugs, including the one persistence one that I am still experiencing as described in my earlier post above. I look forward to see an upgrade showing up at your PPA site.
                        Thanks!

                          Lol so quick
I have had the source for a bit already, just being able to grab the time is all it is waiting for. Soon I think.

                              Thank you!
