2nd Hard Drive Won't Automount, Desktop Launchers Quit Launching

I found another new problem which "might" shed a little light on the launcher problem.

We don't have enough information to know whether these are distinct or related problems.

I've got a program for configuring a keychain camera... Now I'm getting the error

What happens?

There are no .desktop files for any of the launchers on my desktop. I tried creating a new Firefox, but nothing was added to /desktop.

Right...I've configured my Plasma shell's layout as a folder, which happens to be ~/Desktop on my machine. Yours is probably still the default, known as Default Desktop. In this case, the .desktop files for launchers will be stored in ~/.local/share/applications/. What's the contents of that folder on your machine?

It runs, but is having problems with the change to the way the 2nd hard drive is mounted, and isn't able to load a library it needs.

Here's the .desktop file for Firefox

It isn't the same as mine, but nothing immediately stands out as wrong.

Please try this in a console:

kioclient exec ~/.local/share/applications/[i]name-of-firefox-desktop-file[/i]

where name-of-firefox-desktop-file is whatever the file is called. On my machine, it's firefox-2.desktop -- I don't know why the "2" is there. But since I don't know what yours might be called, I didn't want to assume.

With this command, does Firefox start?

I followed Detonate's directions to get the 2nd hard drive to automount at boot - Link

Yes, it says:

Unable to load library 'therau'":
