I tried kubuntu 12.04 by running it from a usb stick. I liked it so much that I did a full install from the same .iso file. Now my wireless internet disconnects every time the computer suspends, install packages are missing - firefox and flash for instance, the wallet keeps appearing (I found out how to disable that from the help file) etc. Don't understand why a full install should behave so differently from when running from the usb? When I go to the documentation it sends me to ubuntu 12.04 which talks about dash and all the other unity workspace controls that I hated. Is there any kubuntu kde gui documentation anywhere? Would appreciate any comments.

Why is install worse than running from USB?

Not sure what you mean by "Now my wireless internet disconnects every time the computer suspends" ... this is surely what should happen when you suspend the computer. Maybe you mean on resume from suspend you can't connect your wireless internet??
Are you sure you installed it properly? It sounds like you are still running a "live" version which resets every time you start it up.
Agree with you regarding Ubuntu 12.04 documentation and Unity (blech!). "install packages are missing - firefox and flash for instance",
Neither Firefox or flash are installed by default. firefox has an issue last i knew because it conflicted with the "firefox-installer". i see you have read this already so i won't repeat it . for flash just install the package flashplugin-installer it will go fetch flash and install it for you (or you can install it manually if you so desire)
" the wallet keeps appearing (I found out how to disable that from the help file)"
the wallet shows up because you saved a password in it (possibly your wifi one) and you also set a password for your wallet. so its asking you to open your wallet so the programs that what to store passwords (or retrive them ) can do so . it will also ask the first time something tries to use it. disabling it is not the correct way to deal with it. (at least if you want any kind of password storage) . this might explain why your wifi is not up when you resume suspend.Mark Your Solved Issues [SOLVED]

Good catch! It is not what I say it is what I mean Yes it does not resume and I have to re-enter my security key. I do get a messge when I go to 'edit' to enter the key which says 'error kde control module - there is no agent available for this request' I don't know if that is relevant. I do know that with both ubuntu 11.10 and kubuntu from the usb they both resumed and I did nothing I am aware of except check the box for resume automatically Which I have done now as well.
I don't know what else I could have done in the install I just let it do its thing automatically?
Thanks for the documentaion link. Great help.
