frustrated, live cd loads gcc needed for ndiswrapper fresh install doesn't

Hi. I thought i fixed this issue once I figured out some apt get commands, However I didn't relize that the live usb loads a internal repo. I can't seem to get gcc installed on the installed for the life of me. Tried downloading files via another computer... some won't even install. I only have wifi at home otherwise this wouldn't be a problem. tried installing repos from cd cant seem to see cd. I'm sure I'm missing something a command to access the live usb repos maybe? any thoughs? thanks in advance, Mayu
Ps. the computer is a dell dimension 2400 1.5ghz 756mb ram and my wifi usb adaptor is a netgear wna 3100

there are no extra packages on the cd only what you have when you boot the disk .

sorry for the confusion, guys. what I was saying is this. I can install gcc, ect when i'm in a live cd/usb. However when I installed the os on the actual harddrive no dice. so.... any thoughts? Here's mine: I'm clearly doing it wrong. *laughs to self*
          Please help.
