Get rid of extra calendar display?

I couldn't think of WHAT to name this! Anyway, I finally updated to 12.04 and now I'm stuck on something. When I click on the clock to display the calendar, I JUST want the calendar--like before--but it includes a side display with holidays:

I've tweaked every setting I could think of, including "Display events," but still haven't gotten rid of it. Help?!

    That's the default.

Anyway, right-click the clock in the tray, click Digital clock settings, click calendar, then under holidays make the selection for your region "not used", and ensure they are all "not used". Then, you'll probably want to resize the calendar.

Thank you, John! Worked like a charm.
