    Install monitor icc profile

In natty I could install a monitor icc profile using gnome-color-manager, by starting the gcm-pref thing.

In 12.04 the latter seems to have been removed from the repositories. In muon I can find a 'ICC Profile Installer'. But I cant find any reference to it in system settings nor in the kde menu

How do I install a icc profile using the 'ICC Profile Installer'

I think that's a gnome program. You might have to add it to kmenu manually. Also, look into colord-kcm - I think it adds color profiles to Stystem Settings.

It's colord, and I believe it's installed by default.

there is no 'color' section in my 'settings'. I do have 'colormgr' but that seems to be a commandline tool...

                Yeah, 12.10.

You need colord, libcolord1, and colord-kde

colord-kde is not available for 12.04. The other two are installed 'by default'.

In 12.04, colors are configured via System Settings > Application Appearance > Colors

                    thnx all

hm yes but those are only the title bar colors and such.....

anyway: I think i managed to get it working (at least I see the module now).

install kde 4.9 in ubuntu 12.04

                    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa

                    then upgrade/etc

and: here is a ppa with colord-kde backport for 12.04!:

                    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:a-o-krutov/colord-kde

then install colord-kde from muon. !

                    thnx!
