change boot animation background image "before" KDM comes up

Hello :

I was wondering where can I change the boot animation background image "before" KDM comes up and let us typing password.

I already found where to change the following item :

1.KDM background：/usr/share/wallpapers/Ariya/contents/images/
2.Boot screen "after" typing password on KDM ：
3.Change the image file in usr/share/kde4/apps/ksplash/Themes/default/1920X1200
4.Animation after shutdown computer ：/lib/plymouth/themes/kubuntu-logo/

And I thought I can change the boot animation background image "before" KDM comes up by cange the image in /lib/plymouth/themes/kubuntu-logo/, but it just change the anmation after shutdown.

so I was wondering, what should I do to change the " boot animation background image before KDM comes up" ?

Plymouth background

Kubuntu boot:

Grub "splash" -> Plymouth -> KDM or LightDM -> KSplashX or KplashQML


Plymouth: http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...Plymouth-theme


Kubuntu 12.04 or newer:

1) Change the /lib/plymouth/themes/kubuntu-logo/background.png



2) Update the initramfs

sudo update-initramfs -u

The Plymouth background should change... changing at here.


If you want to test:

Install the package: plymouth-x11

Konsole #1

sudo plymouthd --debug --tty=`tty` --no-daemon

Konsole #2

sudo plymouth show-splash

There should be two test plymouth theme screens.

no its not works in my machine same problem
