How to set default settings for new users?

    Hello.
How can I define the default settings for new users?
The settings include appearance settings, KDE panel customizations, Dolphin custom buttons, Firefox settings and Gnome settings (to put the window close button in the right side instead of the left size).

I think that the default settings are stored somewhere in /usr/ and I just need to replace the files by the files in the home.
If I learn how to define default settings to an application I think that I will be able to find out how to do it with other applications.
It would let me to save settings and transfer to other computers.

Does it set the settings for root?
If I am using qtcurve widgets and run "sudo kate", kate will be using oxygen widgets instead of qtcurve. Oxygen is the default theme for new users.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.
do not run GUI apps with "sudo" you run the risk of ruining your /home and locking your self out of your login!!
    use "kdesudo" instead.

as to the rest I'm not sure ....but some one will let you know soon

A quick scan for *rc files shows that most are located in /usr/share/, /usr/share/kde4/apps/, /usr/share/kde4/config/, /usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/, and /usr/share/kubuntu-netbook-default-settings/.

        /etc/kde4/
        /usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kde4-profile/default/share/config/
        /usr/share/kde4/config/
        /usr/share/desktop-base/profiles/kde-profile/share/config/

        and don't forget /etc/skel

Thanks, all changes are working for new users.

However, something is strange and is not working with the root user.
Everything is working for root, except the KDE widget style.

If I run "kdesudo kate", the style will be Oxygen, although it is different for new users.
I deleted everything from /root directory, but it continues using Oxygen.
          Oxygen is very ugly.

If I run "kdesudo systemsettings", it shows that it is configured to use plastik (the style that I put for new users), but it is actually using oxygen.
