No sound coming through HDMI to TV

    No sound coming through HDMI to TV

    i've installed Kubuntu 12.04 and I dont have sound with my hdmi Card ATI Raedon 5770. I try to make test with phonon and I dont ear nothing.
    Could you help me please?

    click Kmix (the speaker icon in the system tray)click mixer>click settings>click audio setup>click audio hardware setup in the window that opens (middle tab) click the drop down on the profile section under sound card and try one of the HDMI settings ..........mine works on the default "analog stereo duplex" but once or twice I did half to change it to "HDMI out"

        Are you using the amd fglrx driver, its necesary fore HDMI sound.

        To switch playback from internal to HDMI go to the phonon settings module. In the first tab you can select playback hardware fore video/music/games etc, just make HDMI the preferd device.
        Some times i must make sure the TV is alredy on when i wake ore boot my machine, so if it dosent work at first trye suspending and waking your machine once.

        Also if you use VLC there is a option inside VLC to select output device. Under sound sounddevice.

          I thouth that Kubuntu came with fglrx installed. I've installed fglrx and everithing is ok.
