    Changing Login Screen 12.04

I'm a little confused. I can change the initial picture (after grub), but afterwards it returns to the default animation (before desktop). Here is the particular one I was hoping to get working:

I have not been on Kubuntu for a while (11.04), so extra details would be appreciated.

You are thinking that these two things are the same setting but they are not. You already changed the login screen ("initial picture"). Now you need to change the splash to match the login screen. Go to System Settings > WorkSpace Appearance > Splash Screen and install the one that you want!
    Home: Kubuntu 12.04-amd64; Intel i7-860 on Intel DH55PJ; Nvidia 9500GT; 6GB RAM
Network Slave: Xubuntu 11.10-x86; Intel P4-Prescott on MSI; 2GB RAM; Nvidia FX5200
Portable: Xubuntu 11.10-amd64; Asus EeePC 1015PEM

Wow thanks for the quick help. I also figured out to change the desktop panel. :P I'm surprised I forgot to explore that category upon installation.
