Double notifications

Every time I get a notification of anything, the notification appears as normal above the notification area but I also get a second, identical notification at the top left corner of the screen.
I noticed this problem in 11.10 upgraded via the PPA to KDE 4.8 but in that the second notifications was in the top right.

I think not since I have nothing gnome/unity related installed and the problem occurred pretty much straight after install.

One thing has changed, the second notification is now appearing in random places, sometimes even in the centre of the screen.

Hmm you can try this. Go to system tray settings>entries tab and set notifications to "always visible".

This is how I workaround bug which I got in oneiric with upgrading to kde 4.8 from backports ppa.

Also you can remove system tray widget and then add it again to panel. That way systray widget will be back to it's defaults.
