    remanufactored HP300XL ink cartridges

I have a HP Deskjet D1660 printer and recently bought two re-manufactured HP 300XL cartridges but cannot get the printer to accept them and print.

    Have the following software/drivers installed.

    Code:
    hplip 3.12.10-1
    hpoj 0.91-17
    cups 1.6.1-6
    cups-filters 1.0.24-1
    cups-pdf 2.6.1-1
    cups-pk-helper 0.2.2-1
    libcups 1.6.1-6
    pycups 1.9.62-1
    splix 2.0.0-11
    system-config-printer-common 1.3.11-1
    system-config-printer-gnome 1.3.11-1
Are there any utilities available to get these cartridges to work?

I am not sure I can help you, other than to give you an alert that HP now put ID tags on the cartridge body to preclude the use of refilling! Dell and Brother have been doing this for a while.

I have an HP printer, though it does not use the 300XL cartridge. I found most remans simply come without the top "cap" that contains the chip, others need to have the chip removed and taped or glued into place (awkward). Another thing to consider if you are reusing the cap/chip from older cartridges is that the chips may have a built-in expire date and will not work after that date.

However, looking at it, the 300xl might not be the sort that uses a chip.....
