High CPU temp upon updating recent linux kernel

I am having 64 bit 12.04 installed on HP Pavilion DV 6 and having radeon proprietary display driver. I updated via synaptic to recent updates which include the update of linux generic kernel to version 3.2.0.29.31 (precise-security). after this update, now, the CPU runs very high temp. typically 65-70C even when there is no graphics intensive application running. Previously this used to be about 55-60C. What could be the reason? Is there any update to Radeon proprietary display drivers required upon kernel update? Is it available in repositories?
    thanks in advance.

Problem Solved. I viewed the application that was causing the problem of CPU eating and stopped using it. So no more problem of overheating. You can close the thread.
    Thanks a lot Teunis...
