    Sound problem

My sound works intermittently. Sometimes its fine but other times my once booted up my indicator suggests it is on mute, then if I change that it briefly changes then a clicking sound indicates a change back to the 'mute' position.

    Can some one advise?

My system is a HP tc4400 tablet. I ran 'lspci | grep udio' and got:

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)

    cheers

      Thomas:

Sorry you did not get an answer. Is this still an issue for you? I don't know a lot about sound, but I know that one of my machines starts muted. However, it stays on when I unmute Kmixer.

lower right hand icon, unmute speaker and adjust mixer settings also, There is a bug in kubuntu which reverts audio back to defaults so, volume applet, left click and select mixer and under settings, configure kmix, uncheck "restore volumes on login"

on my system, the treble and base revert back to default state if I don't do this, hope it works for you.
