Hi all
I have the following problem:
I have a laptop Acer 7551G (AMD Phenom X4 with ATI-AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5650) with Kubuntu 12.04 fresh install.
When Kubuntu boots fan starts working slowly and little by little starting to spin faster till max. Doesn't matter if I am working on something or just sitting on plain desktop wallpaper.
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor says ONDEMAND
cat /proc/cpuinfo says that all the CPUs are working at 800MHz (when in plain desktop)
cat /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_method says PROFILE
cat /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_profile says MID
I am putting the card in LOW power profile or make it use DYNPM power method but no effect.
Any Ideas
PS: I am using open source driver, cause fglrx driver freezes the laptop at random (at least in Kubuntu 10.10, 11.04 and 11.10), not tested in 12.04.
