I just finished upgrading from 11.10 to 12.04 and after selecting the latest install from Grub my machine hangs up at the splash screen with the KDE gear and the five dots. If I reboot I get a screen with the same greyish background but no graphic. It just has Kubuntu 12.04 in text above the dots. Eventually the boot hangs generating a lot of text that I have no way to grab aside from taking a picture. I can boot using an older kernel from grub and once in it recognized that Ubuntu 12.04 had crashed and a report was sent. Any ideas would be great?

There are multiple problems with the nVidia blob 295.40. I'd suggest reverting an earlier version.
