    Quicklaunch resizing upon re-login

Coming back to kubuntu after a short hiatus (while KDE 4 was sorted out), and love everything so far. Aside from a few Chromium crashes, nothing really major so far. I added a Quicklaunch widget, as seen here:

After every instance of re-logging in, I see the following (which only requires a resizing, but gets old ):

I have tinkered a bit but only succeeded in screwing things up a bit more, and having to flush my .kde directory. I know I am missing something painfully obvious, but have been in Gnomeworld for the last few years. Could someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction?

I use the Quicklaunch widget all the time, I've never experienced the problem you're describing.
    Does "Locking Widgets" help?
    Using Kubuntu 17.10 64Bit

It does not. It only prevents me from moving and resizing after it has changed. At least that works.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I'd like to get away with not using a hiding taskbar. This machine has plenty of real estate and CPU.
